Sanitizing Large Cages

I have several snakes. When small and kept in 10 and 20 gallon glass tanks I cleaned out the sani-chips and used a clorox solution to sanitize the cages, water bowls, etc. Now that several of my snakes are adults and over 3 ft I have moved them to 40 gallon tanks. I'm 76 and it's a bit difficult to wash out and rinse theselarger tanks when using clorox solution. I have recently resorted to cleaning out the substrate, vacuuming out the tanks and then spraying with a dilute solution of Chlorhexidine (1 oz. 2% in 1 Gal. H2O). I clean the water dishes, hides, and screen tops with Hot liquid dish detergent/water solution, rinse with HOT H2O and air dry. After several minutes I wipe the Chlorhexidine sprayed tanks dry with paper towels and let them set for awhile before putting in new substrate. Also, I spot clean daily and change the water every few days. Is this O.K.? Does anyone have another means of sanitizing these large glass tanks? Thanks for your help.
