Say hello to Ishi the pacific Gopher

tricksterpup

I has nuttin to Say.
Here go folks another Gopher and a pacific one at that.
This is Ishi, bonus points to the first person to tell me where the name comes from.

He is a Gopher we adopted from the local herp society and I have not regreted it one bit. He is a gentle and sweet gopher. He does have a few scars on the back end, possibly from rodent bites but he is a frozen eater for me. So no problems there, easy living for him from now on.

I personally like his stripped pattern that he has.

Couldn't even hazard a guess about the name, but Ishi sure is a pretty Pacific Gopher. In fact...he's almost pretty enough to make me regret giving Sepia away...

Well I know Ishi is a kind of stone..and it's also a god in prophesy in which the name means "my husband"...don't know if that's the answer your looking for though..but he is beautiful :0)

almost forgot..it's also the name of the last considered native american indian in the US..

I know Ishi as Japanese for stone, but it has a multitude of other meanings in Japanese: ruins, death by hanging, volition, chair, dying wish, having someone under your control, etc.

as for the indian answer I gave..I know it means "man" in the Yahi language of indians..darnet I'm so close...am I getting closer???

okay I'm on a craze now to guess this because this is urking at me...I do remember that he was the last indian in Cal. found to have lived wildly in his native land..Ishi was only the name given to him because they never knew his real name..He was well known for being very adaptable hence his ability to have lived freely for so long.. :smash:
