Scale Texture

Is there any difference in the scale texture between full-blooded corns and Emory's/Corn hybrids?

My new girl has rougher scales and I'm wondering if it's a result of her questionable genetics or perhaps a bad shed.

Thanks!

My creamsicle is silky smooth, if that's at all helpful. I don't think I've ever noticed a corn or hybrid with rough scales! Wonder what everyone else will say..

What is your new girl, or don't you know?

Unfortunately I don't know. She was listed as a corn, but she has some traits that aren't right. Her snout is too wide for a corn, and she has the speckling of an Emory's hybrid, but not as much as I've seen in the pictures of first generation hybrids. She's also a really bright yellow color, and I thought the Emory's had more of a grey/brown tint.

I'm wondering if the cross breeding maybe happened a generation or two back in her genetics.

I do have a picture of her in my album, but just a face shot:

When she sheds again I'll post body pics with an ID request and see if anyone here has any ideas. She's starting to fatten up so hopefully by the next shed she won't look so skinny.

When I got her she was also stuck in a really bad shed that had killed off about 1/4 inch of her tail, so it's very possible that the rough texture is a result of that.

My Bacon snake, who is a normal, has an almost "beaded" texture to him. There is no question about his background.

What is a bacon snake. I just purchased a Snow Corn and she has a bit of a beaded texture to her where every other corn I have is smooth. She is gorgous and I kinda like the texture but I'm wondering why she is like this. Is it just a fact that some Corns are like this or is something else going on?
