scales question

Ok i just bought a sub adult amelanistic. I currently have a 6 month old reverse okeetee. my okeetee looks real health but still little small, about 18 inches. My new one is 36 inches long and some of his scales look weird. Is there any kind of skin conditions snakes get. do their scales ever get ruined. I am hoping the big guy will shed soon so i can see how he looks afterwards. but like one of his scales on his belly doesnt look as nice as all the others. almost like a scale is dry and cracking or somethign, its hard to explain. Any ideas?

Also i feed him small mice, 1 small mouse every 7 days, but it doesnt leave much of a lump at all, and within 24 hours he poops and is back out climbing the walls, and is non stop untill he eats again. I went to a large mouse, but he wasnt able to swallow it, so should i try like a rat pup, or two small mice? i just feel like he isnt getting full on his feedings.

They can damage their skin yes, but a shed or three usuaully sorts that out as you can imagine. Is he dehydrated? I'm having trouble picturing what you mean, could you post a photo?

As for feeding, the usual guide is up to but no bigger than 1.5 times the girth of the snake. You can feed two small mice no problem, but don't be convinced he can't manage larger, those jaws can get round them eventually :)

its like having chapped lips...his belly is kinda dry i guess and then one of his scales just splits, i think after a shed or two he will be ok. I dont think his previous owner took the best of care for him or had him on a constant feeding schedule. I'm trying to do my best and care for him properly.

At least he's being cared for now. It does sound quite serious though. All I can suggest is make sure his vivarium is humid enough and he's drinking plenty.
Any possibility of photos?

A bad shed can mess up the scales a bit, but I think more sheddings will work it out. My garter snake has a bizarre scale area on his side that was there before I got him, I hope it sheds out eventually. He also has what seems to be a split on his belly, between scale ridges, and is missing the very tip of the tail, poor guy. With all of that, he does just fine.

yea my buddy took some photos for me so im waiting for them to come via email. once they do i will send them. I fed him last night and he ate great. I bought two small mice, but after eatting the first one i dont think he would have been able to fit the second one down. The first one got stretched out once it got into his stomach and i think 2 would have been too much. However, he ate around 7pm last night and by midday today, less then 24 hours later he is out moving around and climbin the walls. Seriously he never sleeps. Out exploring day and night.
