okay so i haVE AN OLD FISH TANK THAT MY FRIENDS MOTHER GAVE TO ME FOR MY BIRTHFAY FOR MY SNAKE SO ON THE INSIDE FROM THE BREEDER I BO UGHT HIM FROM HE SAID I SHOULD JUIST LAY DOWN ANOTHER SCREEN JUST SO HE CANT GET TO THE LIGHTS ANYWAYS IT WAS WORKING FINE UNTIL MY SNAKE FIGURED OUT THAT HE HAS A WAY TO GET ON THE SCREEN AND SLITHER AROUND UP THERE I CAME UP TO CHECK ON HIM ANS SAW THIS SO FIRST THING WAS I TOKE THE SCREEN OFF POUT HIM IN A TUPPERWARE UNTIL I WAS DONE AND JUST DUCT TPED THE SCREEN TO THE LID I TOKE HIM OUT OF THE TUPPER WARE AND OPUT HIM IN THE VIV AGAIN WENT TO BED WOKE UP AND SAW HE WAS STILL IN HIS SKULL WICH IS QUIT HEAVY (NEEDED FOR LATER ON IN THE STORY) SO I THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT AND WENT DOWNSATRA ANSD BABY SAT MY BROTHER ANYWAYS THE DAY WENT ON AND I WENT TO CHECK ON HIM AND I SAW HIM HANGIONG FROM THE TOP OF THE CAGE HE WAS STUCK ON THE TAPE HIS NECK SKIN WAS STRETCHED OUT FROM A CENTIMETER I SWARE AND HE HAD HIS TAIL WRAPPED IN A AND OUT OF THE SKULLS EYES AND STUFF FROM THE WAY I WAS LOOMING AT IT HE LOOK CUT OPEN AND EVERYTHING MY LITTLE BROTHER TAPPED ON THE GLASS A QUIVKLY SAID STOP AND AS I TURNED I SAW THE SNAKE WAS CRAZILY WAVING HIS BODY AROUND AND ACUALLY PICKED UP THE SKULL AND WAS THROWING IT AROUND HE IS ONLY ABOUT 2 MONTHS AND HALF OLD BY THE WAY HE IS VERY HEALKTY NEVER REGURGED AND NEVER HAS SHED IN PIECES OKAY ANYWAY SO I IMMEDIATLY TOKE MY LID OFF AND GENTLE GOT HIM OFF THE TAPE AFTER THAT I NOTICED HE LOOKED FUINE HIS SKIN WASENT STRECHED HE DIDNT LOOK HURT ANY WHERE HE WENT BACK IN HIS VIV AND SLITHRED TO A HIDE AND I REFILLED HIS WATER AND LEFT HIM ALONME THE REASON I POST THIS IS I NEED TO KNOW WHAT THIS CAN CAUSE IN THE FUTRE LIKE WILL HE BE ABLE TO BE HELD OR WILL HE NOW BE VERY SKWIRMISH THINGS LIKE THIS PLEASE SOMEONE I NEED HELP I AM VERY CONCEREND:(:(:(:(:(:(:sobstory:
 
First snakes and tape are a very bad combination. You almost found that out the hard way. :(

If you need to hold the screen top on, they sell clips that will hold it in place. In addition to the clips, I also recommend to add something heavy to the top. It should be big enough that it rest around the edges and not on the screen itself. If it is on the screen, it may be heavy enough to fall through.

Also, give him several days without holding him to recover from the scare he just had.
 
ALRIGHT THANK YOU SO MUCH BUT HES DUE FOR A FEED TOMMAROW OR THE NEXY DAY ANYTHING I SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THAT?
 
I wouldn't worry so much about him not letting you handle him after that, just let him relax for awhile that was stressful for him. I would worry about getting a new lid for your tank. I'm not sure what kind of lid/screen your using but it doesn't sound safe. If you could post a picture of your tank maybe someone hear could tell you if the lid is ok or if you need to get a different one.
 
Well feeding it all depends on how big the snake is. Feed it frozen and thawed mouse(depending on size fuzzy or pinky), make sure the mouse is hot not cold. Take the snake out of it's tank and feed it in a seperate container.

Do a search on feeding I'm sure you'll get more info.
 
Put off feeding for 2 or 3 days to let him settle down after his fright. If you feed him while he's still unsettled, you risk a regurge. Just leave him alone for a few days.
 
Bitsy's right. IMHO you should wait on the feed. A couple of extra days on an empty stomach won't hurt, and can possibly help a lot by not providing additional stress. Even "good stress" can be bad when healing is needed. Just ask anyone with kids trying to recover from the flu or surgery!

Hopefully he'll be fine a few days. I'm glad your tape experience wasn't worse. People have lost snakes due to injuries caused by tape. Let us know how things go.
