Sealing Clay Hides?

Good day.
Not 100% sure this is the correct forum for this question and sorry for the long-winded background to question. :spinner:
I've recently upgraded my viv to a larger homemade one. Corn snake weighs in at about 38 - 40 grams.
Since i'm using paper toweling, i know i need nice and secure hides. When i upgraded, i only had 2 store bought hides, and was a bit low on funds, so i bought one of those roundish, plastic traveling soap containers for a third hide and using a soldering iron, i cut a hole in one side. I'm only using the lid half of the soap dish, so it nice and low. Anyway, i put the hide in, and snake LOVES it. From other forums, this seems to be the general case, they prefer the cheap homemade hides to the more expensive "specially" designed hides.
Anyway, seeing the way snake loves it, i decided to buy 2 more dishes, did the same, then i thought, what if i put clay onto it, would make it nice and dark inside (the plastic is kinda translucent). So, last night i put lay on them and even added a short (about 3cm) tunnel as entrance. Even if i must say myself, looks quite cool, almost like large pebbles.
My question is this, what do i use to seal the clay?

I DUNNO WHAT TO USE TO SEAL CLAY -
But I'd use that to make a mould out of plaster of plaster of paris and make a few fibre glass hides and paint them different colors.

ooooo a business.lol

Could you please post some pics? I'd love to see those hides.

Hey Funnynonsense

I'll borrow a digital camera and post pics, will try and post pics tomorrow. I'm really proud of my hides. :) Interesting idea of using it as a mould....event though i have no idea of how to make a mould out of it. :)

In the same business line, how about importing aspen for us aspenless, (also powerless) South Africans. I cannot find anyone who stocks it here in Cape Town.
