sealing diy hides

So I have my first group of sculpty hides in the oven! I bought a pound of white, and two ounces of black and brown to give them a swirled look. Hopefully they look as good coming out as they did going in!

To the people that have worked with sculpty, what did you use to seal it? I read polyurethane is good...but oil or water based? Sculpty makes a glaze to put over finished work, but I'm afraid to use it since it has so many toxic warnings on the label. Any feed back would be wonderful! :)
