Selling my adult corn...

Hey all, I am trying to sell my normal, assumed female but can have her sexed by a very knowledgable friend who breeds balls.... Anyways, I dont know what to price her...what would you think is a decent price for a 2 year old female normal corn?

I listed her in the local ads for $50....mostly because I need the money, I had one person offer me $25....butttt I dont really want to let her go for $25, but if that is the general rate, I guess I will have to. Thanks.

Selling her huh

Is this the corn for sale in the pic? If so shes very pretty. Where do you live? If your up for shipping as I live in montana id be intrested in purchasing her.

Man, around these parts you could get over $200 for it. I guess it depends on your local snake market.

now granted i am still learning allot on this forum and thanks to everyone who has helped the progress.......................but having said that, i don't think i would pay $200 for an unsexed normal. :shrugs:
anyway, good luck - sweetdiego7.

It also depends on the sex of the snake. Females sell for more, males sell for less. Normals sell for around 20 for a hatchling, I would sell a male adult for 30, and a female adult for 35, granted they don't have any hets. If they have hets, depending on which ones, you could sell for up to 40. I don't think many would be interested in a un-sexed adult normal. I would probably pay 25 for a unsexed adult normal.

Good Luck selling!

An online breeder would sell a young (<5 years old) unsexed adult normal for around $55. If you want to sell it quickly, you could ask somewhat less than that. But $25 is too little.

Thanks everyone, I figured $25 for a very healthy 2 year old was too little...especially since I've put in hundreds for feeding, cages as she got larger, etc. I would love to sell her to someone who already has a large cage, seeing as I have 2 boas that could definitely use my 40 gallon tank later in life. I really dont want her new owner to put her in a 20 gallon long, she would be way too cramped. She can stretch end to end in the 40 gallon I have, and actually curve around about 4-5 inches....

She's not real 'cuddly'....she is always moving when I hold her, and getting her out can be slightly scarey for a non-snake experienced person. She has never bit (only struck once or twice as a hatchling), she just does the 'scared', S-curve occasionally, but I just grab her and she's fine.

She doesnt have to be sold immediately, but I just feel bad because I dont get her out much, and I know someone with some more time could. I could ship to someone interested, I just never have shipped a live animal and so I would need to read up on it, and figure out who to ship with.

I am fairly sure 'Torque' is a female, but I can have her sexed as I said to be sure. My friends who breed ball pythons have somewhere between 70-80 snakes at a time, so they have a lot of experience....

Its cold at the time, very cold in very northern utah where I am....so I dont know if shipping is a good idea, but I had a boa shipped to me on a cold day and he was fine. I dunno.

I think the meaning of your post is to see what the going rate for your snake may be and that is fine but please be careful not to sell your snake here if you are not a contributing member. If you are a contributing member then you should post it in the "For Sale" forums. Just be careful to follow the rules. These are Rich's rules on how to conduct yourself and your business on these forums. I just wanted to give you a heads up just so you didn't get into any mishaps.

NOTICE: Posting For Sale ads on this site.
After a lot of reflection on this situation, I have decided to restrict the posting of FOR SALE ads to Contributor level members only.

If you would like to become a contributing member, please click on this link: Contributor Memberships

Addendum: I just got a notice from someone who discovered another member trying to bypass this restriction by posting a FOR SALE ad in another forum. Please note that any incidents like this, such as blatant ads described as a Photo Gallery posting, will get the member doing this banned for three days from the site. I mean, come on! Do you REALLY think it would pass by unnoticed by the Contributor members here?

Sorry to have to repeat this here, but apparently people aren't reading the announcement at the top of this forum.

My intention was definitely not to sell her on this site, just wanted to know the going rate...sorry didnt know the rules. I've had offers from people around here, I think I may just take them, simply because it means I dont have to worry about her when Im out of town for xmas.
