Senior Year of College with a new House pet

So i'm moving in next saturday the 29 to start my last year of college * tear*. With this last year, I have my Opal coming to school with me from home which is about 1 hour and 15 mins away. I have heard that it is best to transport them in a Holey tubberware container with paper towels at the bottom, an ice pack ( with cloth between the tubberware) and blinds to shade the sun.

I'm not sure when my housemates and roomate will move in , but I do know that I want to keep my Opal in our room due to possible drunk people being in the common areas downstairs.

So if I move with my Opal an hour and fifteen mins. away from home, on Sauturday monring, would it be okay for me to feed him Monday night? I usually feed him on Sunday, but I don't want him to regurge.

Would I also need to "leave him be" as in not handle him for the next 3 days to a week?

Also is it advisable to walk with a yearling Opal corn (no more than once a month), around campus if the temps outside are between 80-88, and if he doesn't touch the ground?

With such a short move you should be ok just leaving a coupe of days to check the temperatyure is ok before feeding. As for walking around with the snake, I'd say it's a no-no. Unneccesary stress to the snake, some people are phobic about reptiles. You could find yourself reported for upsetting them. It wouldn't benefit the snake in any way.

I agree with Janine, I'd keep the snake as low-profile as possible. You never know what people are going to complain about, and these days one complainer has more rights that a hundred people who aren't breaking any rules.

I would mostly walk him to the Biology building, because the Target in my area doesn't have a measuing scale in grams. its about a two minute walk, but if it causes stress then I def. wouldn't have a problem with leaving him at home, or I could possibly get someone to bring the scale to me.

countdown til move in and underclassmen traffic

I bought the 2nd scale with the battery and the glass from target. I was anxious so i weighted him and he's about 34/35 grams. I also decided to move him to school on Thursday because I have illegal acess to my room :D, because my housemate who has permission to be on campus early will let me in. I'm going to drop him off on Thursday at noon and go back home til Saturday morning cause I figured that moving him and the rest of my college junk in on Saturday will be hectic. I'm debating about leaving his fluorscent bulb off for good now so i can see him more often in the daytime , and when it gets colder I'll put in a red bulb to help keep his tank cozy.
