September 11th.....

Gone, but never forgotten.

I remember it as if it happened yesterday.

I was driving into work listening to Howard Stern when the first report started coming in. It was surreal. So many emotions flooded my head.

I was in Dr. Joe Townsend's Ag 101 class on West Campus when it happened. Texas A&M has been notorious for "maroon outs", where the entire stands of Kyle Field is full of maroon shirts, save for the Corps block, that is in khakis. The very next Saturday, Kyle Field had its first Red White & Blue out. I was in the khaki corps block when this image was taken at half time. We will not forget.

I was online trying to buy stock in Tiffany....
I couldn't get through to my investment site, it was down.
There was a banner across my screen saying that there had been an explosion at the World Trade Center.

My very first thought was how the media blows up every little thing for a headline and wondered if 2 stockbrokers got into a fistfight....

I guess ignorance really IS bliss.........

Some info about the victims of 9/11
September 11, 2009

New York City’s Office of Chief Medical Examiner reported early this year that 2,752 death certificates had been issued for those who died in the World Trade Center attack on Sept. 11, 2001.

I was outside a little while ago. I heard this loud flapping sound coming from the road, like a truck with a flat tire, or a tarp about to fly off. I looked out there, and it was a horse trailer, with a GIANT American flag being flown from the roof!

I was doing a portable x-ray of a patient in ICU when it happened. Everyone was crowded around this person's bed, wondering how such an accident could have happened. Then, as we watched, the second plane hit, and we knew. Things _seem_ to be back to normal, these days, but really, no one who saw that can ever go back to the innocence we had before that time. Before, after. It changed the world.

I saw it live on NBC or Sky News...
I was too shocked to fully understand what happened...
I am sorry for your loss as a people.

I cant believe that it has already been 8 years... I was still living at home in Chicago and was inbetween classes at community college when I passed a tv in the common area and witnessed the second plane hit. It was so surreal. Like I was watching a movie, I couldnt believe it! What a sad day it was...

I always thank those who fight for our country. Its amazing what they do for all of us.

This image was sent to me a couple years ago on Sep 11th. First time I saw it I cried and was full of emotions. Now it's a reminder of that day and all the people who lost their lives and how it affected so many. It's also a personal reminder of what my husband serves this country for every day he is over seas.

Wow Becky, a very sad but wonderful picture.....

That late summer of 2001 saw alot of change in my life....
On September 1 a family friend left a suicide note and disappeared.
(Her badly decomposed body was found in her car in a cornfield on Columbus Day).
Later that week my husband's grandmother passed away.
Then my husband was rear ended at a stop light while coming back from getting our new van registered, he suffered effects for months.
Then I suffered a miscarriage.

Then September 11 when the world changed forever.....
