Im going shopping soon for new stuff in my cages. Here is a few pics of my cages, would you please tell me what I might need, besides a thermometer and a new light?
This is the biggest and hardest worked-on cage I have. Artemis lives in this one, and besides a heater what else do I need? a bigger bowl? (hes about 34 inches long)

This is Leo's, she is my 2nd biggest, her and Artemis will breed next year!
I dont think I need anything in this one. (she's the same size. . . about) Where would I put my new thermometer to get the best reading?

This is Skittles, her cage looks pretty good. . . is there anything I'm missing?

And Last is Casper. I know I need a new light, it's been out for awhile.
Yet again, anything I need?

Now that you have seen all the cages and what they might need. I was wondering if there is a bedding better than Aspen shavings.
I've had my snakes about 2 years now I I want a change in bedding. So is this the cheapest stuff out there that won't harm my snakes?

Thanks again for responding.

Um hard to tell from the pics for sure but looks like you only have one hide in each tank you should have one or both sides the warm side and the cool side

Put the temp probe inside the hotside hide. If you want to be super thorough put one in the cold side hide and another thermometer measuring the ambient air temp in the cage. If the temp in your room is pretty stable thats pretty overkill though. A temp gun is handy to spot check areas in that case, and one is enough to cover all of your vivs.

I use cypress mulch, but its not everyones first choice. The cypress "vapors" will not hurt your snakes. I don't like aspen because it is hard to keep moist. And the cypress gives you a visual indicator as to when you need to "add water"

I'm definitely new at this, but just how "moist" do you mean? I'm sure I've read a number of posts by people I'd call veterans around here that were advocating against added moisture on the substrate at least.

You normally wouldnt have to have 'moist' substrate for them to live in. If its too moist all the time they can get sores from that. But there are some that have problems with their snakes shedding and they had a little 'dish' inside the tank... just something you can put moist papertowels or spagnum moss into that can be kept moist ..just have a hole big enough for the snake to get into so they can help themselves shed better. Aspen is the highest recommended around here but you can also use repti-bark but its more expensive... or you can use shredded newspaper too. I use either the aspen or newspaper or when they are little just paper towel :)
