I have always used Vivs so please excuse the daft question. Do you put the mat and stat probe in the RUB or underneath if there is enough of a gap.

Kindest regards

RUB???
Do you mean tub?? lol I don't use tubs but I think that some you flex-watt under the tub and tape it down with aluminum type of tape and the stat probe I'm not sure but guess they tape that down too close to the tub.

Yes i mean plastic tub, for some reason a lot of people in the UK call them RUBs, i think it stands for "really useful box".

LOL You learn something new every day LOL
I just thought it was a mix up. The R key IS right next to the T key.

You could do a search on Rack or rack systems. That a shelving that hold multiple tubs

realy useful engines... boxes i mean

Seriously u just had a look at a tub rack in another post.... IKEA would do lovely ones if your in the UK
I would think taping your mat under the box

However what type of thermostats are you guys talking about
all i find locally are thermometers

Do a search for dimmer switch for thermostats. It even has instructions on how to wire it up yourself. Though I am not sure how different the instructions would need to be for your part of the world.

If you use flexwatt heat tape then you just put it on the shelf and use the foil tape to tape it to the shelf. Dont use normal tape, it wont work and will just burn.

For the probe for the temps I put it right on the heat source, keeping in mind that their is either a tank or decently thick plastic separating the snake from the heat.

i have my probes from my herpstats right on top of the flexwatt in the middle of the length(of flexwatt)...so if you were to look at my racks from the front the probes are right in the center of the rack, taped down right up tight to the divider. i also use the self made rheostat type dimmers. you can build one for under $20(14.21 euros). i set them up and turn the dial about 3/4 of the way up, and use my tempgun to dial them in perfectly. once i have them dialed in, i put a mark on the knob and on the plate to make sure if it gets bumped, i know it.

forgot to add the reason i put my probes in the middle by the divider, is so the tubs wont knock the probe off when sliding them back in the slots....
