The only organ that you are popping out is the male's hemipenes...an organ that normally "pops out" when mating occurs.sarah s said:fair nough but I wanted to be sure as popping organs out of my little ones body seemed like a slightly risky thing to have done. I wanted to be sure they would go back in safely etc.
You can sometimes tell by how fast and how much the tail tapers immediately after the vent (aka - poopy hole - just in case a newbie hadn't heard that term yet). For females, the tail tapers very quickly and dramatically. For males, it is a slow, gradual taper as the hemipenes are safe and snug in their special place. Please note - THIS IS NOT A 100% GUARANTEED METHOD OF SEXING SNAKES!!! Either sex has been known to look like the other in regards to tail taper...and then there are those that look like it could be either sex.CMatt2157 said:I was assured that my corn was a male when I picked it up at the reptile shop, but I was also assured that he was a Miami phase corn. If you take a look at my avatar... you'll understand. So I am interested in knowing for sure if he is a male or female. Is there anyway of knowing without probing? Such as how big the snake is or the length of their tales? Thanks.
