I want to buy two cornsnakes and I was wondering if I could put a big square of cardboard between the viv and have the snakes live together with no direct contact.

Sort of like that, its a 20 gal long, and when they grow up I will get a second tank.

actually they sell plastic or glass dividers that are made to be a divider in a 20 gallon Long. Check your aquarium sections of the pet stores.

I forgot to add, that I plan to do the same once my new hatchlings that I will be getting out grow their shoe boxes in their rack and just living in a split 20L and once they are larger I have less 20L's to buy... OR hopefully by then I will have built a large structure to house and display them all in ... "big dreams, no tools" LOL!

When my first two corns were hatchlings, I made my own divider for their 20L out of cardboard. I cut a piece to fit the aquarium, then I used silicone to seal the sides. If you go this route, make sure you let the silicone dry and air out for a day or two. Here is a picture of what it looked like (they are to big now to be housed this way).

I was thinking about doing something similar. What are your guys feelings on housing two snakes in the same cage, without a divider?
