She FINALLY ate...

After refusing weekly prey offers for nine long weeks, finally my 3 year old took a mouse! I am so relieved...Thought it was maybe a springtime brumation-related thing so tried not to panic. Also fiddled the temps, changed mouse supplier, wiggling and just about every trick in my admittedly limited newbie arsenal. Anyway, the wiggling helped for sure. Hate to shift to live prey, though, so I guess the puppet show will continue. She's up on her branch looking much happier, now. Reading all the info on this site has helped immensely, thank you all! :licklips:

Congrats, it's a bit scary when they stop eating for no apparent reason, but I'm glad she started again for you :)

Oh and the wiggling mouse trick, is usually refered to around here as "The Zombie Mouse Dance" :laugh01:

Congrats again

After nine weeks, no weight change, if anything, her head got larger...She is looking a little dull in that pre-shed way. We had a fairly rough winter up here in deepest Idaho, so I'm hoping the hunger strike was just a response.
