She stares at me.

Hi! I am really new to keeping snakes but I took in a corn snake last month and she seems to be doing well, she put on 11g since I started her on the munson plan and she is easily handled and very gentle.

She tends to stare at me though. I have her near my computer desk and when I go over and sit she will poke her little head out of her hiding spots and just kind of stare.

Is she hungry? Wary? Just curious about what her human is up to? Asking to come out and slither about?

Just wondering.

My guess would be she is picking up the vibrations of you walking over and peeking out to see what the source is.

They are inquisitive little peeping toms, mine do this if they are buried and want to see what is up "upstairs"!

they seem to have this notion that they can see you from inside a hiding spot, but you can't see them. it's adorable. Princess often pokes her head out from inside of a hollow log, only to coil back inside as soon as I look directly at her.

the best is when she hides in the plastic ivy I got her. "by the power of these fake leaves, I have become... INVISIBLE!" yeah, you go on thinking that sweetheart <3

She's reading your Facebook & Instagram postings. :grin01:

LOL! Well as long as I am not stressing her out.

She got fed yesterday and is doing really well. She is quickly becoming my favorite pet, especially because she doesn't yell at me when she wants food or leave hair all over my black pants when I need to get out the door.

haha! That's what I say too. even the fish swim around begging for food when I walk by.

Just DO NOT let her see your passwords for sites, next thing you know they will be subscribing to corn porn and buying sexy lingerie and chocolates for their girlfriends.

Oh wait... that's my husband.

My corns are the most curious of all the snakes I currently own...My bloodred is out ALOT...she is by far the most active of the 3, my snow likes to watch what goes on (especially if I'm over by where the vivs are) and my lavender is just a busy body...if he thinks it's even remotely close to feeding time (which to him could be every day if I would let him) he plants himself at the front of his viv and "stares"

Corn porn...that's rad...although if you Google that you might come across something completely different...just sayin :uhoh:

Yeah, the more I thought about Googling it the good sense in my head told me not to, especially when I am about to go to sleep!

Sometimes I wonder if people just think I am plain crazy or do have a twisted sense of humor! If I can make 1 person laugh a day, my job is done.

Years ago, when my 23 y/o was in the third grade, I got a note from her teacher that said...'She stares at me.' That letter popped in my head as soon as I saw your title.

Lol I love this staring forum and conversation!
My Seamus sticks his head through the eye socket of his skull and will stare for close to an hour.
My boyfriend will walk past the tank and catch him then I'll get a picture text message of how my snake is such a creeper lol I honestly love it when he does that because he just looks so cool and interested!
