She stopped breeding....

My female isn't pregant, and she had her last litter 35 days ago. She only had 3 litters and didnt get pregnant after her last. Should I start over? There isnt' a pet store near me anymore. It closed so I need to keep breeding the mice. I have her last litter kept so far so should I get male/female from that litter? Any help would be greatly appreicated.

If the purpose of having this mouse is to produce pinkies then yes I would start over. But I would not use her offspring, I would try to get unrelated ones. I feel poor production can be hereditary.

yes I would start a new cage with another pair in, at least then if this one does breed again you already have another cage just in case.

I have one female that regulary breed every 25 days which is handy when I have 13 hatchlings to feed, but my other breeder tubs are a lot slower and their litters arent as big either. I have kept some off her previous litters for breeding and 2 of them are already pregnant but my others from the other female arent.

Tks for the replys everyone. I really appreciate it. I have to use her offspring becasue the pet store closed a few weeks ago. sigh. cant' get ANYTHING for my snake now. The nearest pet store is like a 6 hour drive now. So got to use her offspring. But will try another batch in a diff tank to see how it goes. Tks again all.

How old are her off spring now, they shouldnt breed to about 12 weeks but having said that I left 2 of my females in with the mum and dad this time and they are both pregnant.

It may take a while so just be patient.

Is this a normal mouse or an ASF?

Because my ASFs haven't bred since the beginning of winter and both my friend's that have them have had the same problem. I think it may be a seasonal thing and I am waiting for Spring to get well under way to make sure...

If its a normal mouse, I would look at age and also at the male. If the female has produced well in the past then it is most likely the male that is the problem...
