my new adult candy cane is very deep into shed (you can see by the pics) when i first got him he was all over his cage and would bask under his light all day but lately he stays cureld up in his hide is this normal behavior when there deep in shed? also is it safe to hold them when they are in this mood is he hiding for a reason is it because his eyes are glazed over and he cant see well? i really want to hold him but im afraid it may just stress him out

Yes thats normal behaviour, some feel less secure because of their decreased vision. Some are also more irritable during the shedding cycle.

Go ahead and try and handle there no harm in trying. Some don't mind, some will prefer you left them alone during shed. My snake hates it lolz, turns into a right devil during shed, but is then back to being completely calm afterwards ;)
