Shedding Problem

Lurking around the corner
I've had my snake for a few months now, and he's shed 3 times. This last time though, there is some skin stuck to the top of his head in the center. There's a small piece that's like glued to his head and the rest of it is like flaked up. It's a skinny strip; when I took the skin out last night, the head area of the shed was in strips and the rest of the body came off in a perfect one piece.

I was wondering if I should try something to get the skin off of his head, or if I should just leave him and trust it will come off on it's own. :shrugs:

Try giving him a bath in shallow lukewarm water.

At the same time, wet a paper towel (in the lukewarm water so it's not freezing cold) and pick him up with it allowing him to nudge and crawl through it.

A few minutes of that should clear up any loose bits that are still stuck to him.

:)

If colinmcc advice does't get it all off you can try to peel it off with tweesers, but be careful not to harm the snake.

No no no no no. Do not peel skin off from them. That has got to be painful. Since it's just a little bit that won't constrict anything, you can leave it on until the next shed, or you can get a warm damp papertowel and just hold him and let his head crawl through it, or simply put a warm papertowel into a little container and let him crawl around for about 30mins. That should take care of it.
