My corn snake is about to shed, she's in blue eye - and hangin' around under the heat lamp... how much bigger will she get? This is her 3rd shed after birth... her first was July 17th, then again Sept. 12... how much bigger will she get?

Ummm...she could get around 6 feet long. Average is around 4 feet, though. Healthy babies will shed approximately once a month...at least for the first year or so.

Weird

when my 2 were small(from same batch) they used to shed atleast 2 times a month and i fed them 1 a week

Well, is my corn unhealthy? She seems to shed every 2 months... and when I asked how big would she get, I meant how big would she get this 3rd time she sheds? Just give me an estimate of how much bigger she will be from her size at this point.

I feed this baby 2 pinkies per week. Seems to be doing fine.

2 pinkies a week sound fine.

When a snake sheds, it doesn' suddenly get like 2inches bigger. It doesn't get any longer from just before shedding to after it has shed. It grows gradualy. It doesn't suddenly jump in size ater shed. I which they did:D

when m snake was young, it went through some mega growth spurts. i swear this is true. i once measured the skin at 18in. the next skin was 23.5in!!!!! and it was shedding once a month

Lol, cool.
But never trust the measurements of a snake skin. Thay are never right, lol. They are always been stretched or wrinkled up. Its better to get a measuring program to meansure your snakes.

Thanx all... I too measure the skin to find out how much it has grown but I know it isn't the exact size of the snake itself.

I should probably start this next question in a new thread, but while I am already here and know that at least one of you also own ball pythons, I am thinking of buying one as my 2nd snake... but I'd like to find out how much more different these ball pythons are compared to a cornsnake?

Lol, my second snake was a ball python.
Ball Pythons are great snakes. They dont move around as much on your arm and hand like corn snakes do but they do like to coil up on your hand and wrap around your wrist and arm.
The are beautiful snakes. Normal Ball Pythons

Cheers

Alex

They're pretty different. Go in the "Miscellaneous" forum and do a search for "ball pythons"
You'll find several helpful topics.
