I understand that when a corn snake is preparing to shed, they go into 'the blue' in that their eyes go bluish and milky/dull. Will this happen with my hatchling given that she is an amel and as such has red eyes.

Reason I ask is that her skin looks quite dull but her eyes still appear clear and red?

Thanks

I have a snow with very bright red eyes. "Blue" stage is very easy to see with red eyes. However, a snake will go blue for a couple of days and then it will clear up. After it clears up, the snake will shed 2 days to 1 week afterwards. During the time after the eyes clear, the skin will still appear dull.

Just to clarify

The Amel morphs won't actually appear blue in coloration like the non-Amels. Their eyes will appear to be a hazy or cloudy white.

This year

My hatchlings have shed at around 6 days out of the egg. Their second sheds have been going 2-3 weeks after that.
