I would have to say that most of my snakes, of all ages, shed about once a month. My adults may go a little longer, depending upon the season. And you can get the occasional odd shed...1-2 weeks after another shed, or going 6-8 weeks for a hatchling.
 
I agree, my fully grown snakes still shed every 8 weeks or so, and sometimes very young hatchlings shed every 2 weeks. It really depends, there is no 'normal,' but for a 6 month I would estimate every 4 weeks.
