Shedding

I was wondering if someone could post some info about the signs to look for as a corn gets ready to shed. Thanks in advance!

Their colour becomes slightly dull - not particularly noticable in things like Snows though.

Their eyes become cloudy.

They're more inclined to hide away and stay out of sight.

They may refuse food, although many don't.

So, basically the same as other snakes. Good! I've had my corns for about two months and they seemed to be underfed when I bought them. They've been great eaters and I expect a shed very soon.

I saw some shed references to "blue" or "blueing". Is this just another way to say that they are getting a bit dull or opaque? On average, how much time between sheds for a healthy, active, good eating corn that is about one year old? I've heard about every three months, but I'm kind of curious what you guys have experienced.

The first thing I look for is that they will dull a bit. Almost get a dirty look to them. I flip them over and on most, by looking at the belly, it will get a bit milky. Those are the first signs to look for.

When they are deep in the blue, they will turn a blue or opaque color, their eyes cloud over, they may hide a lot and get a bit irritable.

Then it clears up and in about 3-5 days, they slough(shed) it. They will shed about once a month until they are adults. Then it can, but not always slow down a bit. My 5 year old anery, before he went on his hunger strike, was shedding every month.
