She's GONE :(

Well I woke up this morning to find that my snake is GONE!!! She always manages to get out at least once a year. The top that I have on my cage is mesh and well my cat is kinda heavy, so last night as I was sleeping he jumped on top of it and pushed it through. So my snake saw her chance and now she's gone. For the future what is a better suited lid? Last year the same thing happened and she was gone for THREE Months!! I don't even know where to begin looking. It's always so hopeless. My room us upstairs and she crawled through my vent and my brother found her in a closet down underneath my basement stairs. My only big concern is my cats. They will eat her if they find her, and I really really don't want that. Any Suggestions?? Thanks

Sorry to hear, unfortunately cats and snakes don't mix. When I had cats, they were kept out of the snake room at all times. If you have a glass aquarium, mesh or screen is the best option. You might try getting a piece of pegboard to put over the screen at night so the cat won't fall through. Good Luck, hope you find her.

Depending on how much of a hunter your kitty is would be a big factor. I had one get loose and my cat was just batting it around.

I'd do a search for lost or escapes and you'll find a bunch of info and suggestions. Good luck finding your snake
