Shipping Snakes?

Do they need to go over night? My chameleons do, but snakes can go without food or water for a few days so is USPS flat rate ok or not and will the temps this time of year hurt them to stay in a box that long, just wondering what everyone else uses.

1) Yes, snakes need to go overnight.
2) It is illegal to ship snakes USPS. As in against federal law.
3) I ship fedex priority overnight, you must be certified to ship this way.
 
4) Priority Overnight is the only method FedEx allows. You sign a contract agreeing to ship in that manner.

5) It's not being hungry that you worry about in shipping, it's temperature. You can only keep the snake warm/cool for so long before your heat/ice packs wear out. Ideally, the snake is only in transit for 12-18 hours.
 
Since we're on this topic and I'm sorry if this is derailing.
But for those of you that are fedex certified are you able to ship to Canada or no?

Is there anyway to ship animals from the states to Canada... Because it's hard to get any of those beautiful morphs here, none the quality some of you have either.
