Shipping to Canada??

corn2012

I was just wondering if anyone that sells corns ships to Canada? (I am in Saskatchewan) I have one normal corn, but would like to get another in the spring. I do NOT want to but from a pet store again! I feel that getting one from a breeder seems so much better and can insure a healthier snake as well. Pet stores don't know the history, and how the snake has fed since hatching. Also, they are never quite sure of the sex of the snake. (They 'believe' mines a female)
Thanks in advance:)

I think a couple of people from Canada just imported some in the last month or so. I just don't remember who they were. Check with Nanci here, I think she was one of the sellers.

I sent a single snake to a Canadian who was able to cross the border and pick up in the US.

Not many ship to Canada but you can get them shipped through reptile express, or get your import license and do it yourself.

You don't need an import license to import pet snakes. I don't know the regulations for those who are breeding as a business. I spoke to Customs myself to verify this before shipping.

You need your US Fish and Wildlife import/export license (when type of use is commercial), and you will need to fill out a 3-177 declaration form and clear US Fish and Wildlife inspections before animal(s) are transported across the border. This applies to both Non-CITES (ie cornsnakes) and CITES (ie pythons/boas/monitors etc) animals.

Simply crossing the border and bringing the animals across can't be done, as US laws haven't been complied with.

-Sam

Have you considered shopping local? As in within the country, wouldn't that be less of a paper/border headache?

I just don't believe you have nearly the same selection within Canada unfortunately with regards to corn morphs.
However Corn2012, there are great Canadian breeders thankfully :) CarlieLynn is one, SquamishSerpents is another (BC) and I got my Ultra Anery from Triple R Corns, but she is no longer breeding corns.

This site is the place to be to get in touch with the right people. There's a few Canadians that can help you, and there MUST be a few that have their US wildlife license to import corns!?

Just keep asking around, you'll eventually find the right person :) I think I have my eye on a future black ratsnake, I just need to figure out if they are legal here or not so I'm doing the research too :)
