I have 3 snakes that are to arrive tomarrow. They have been shipped so they would arrive by 10:30am. Accrding to the tracking info from Fedex, they won't be delivered until 4:30pm. :twohammer
My problem - I HAVE to be at work by 1:30pm - 2pm at the absolute latest, which means I have to leave my house by 1-1:30 pm. :grin01:
Can I leave a number for the delivery guy to call me? Leave a note?
How long do I have before they are sent back? I am freaking out! Can anyone give me advice?
Why does Fedex have next day 10:30am delivery if they cannot have the packaged delivered by that time?! (sorry for the vent)

They have a stipulation that it is 10:30 to most places. If your address is not near a station they get to you later. Try calling 1-800 fed ex with the tracking info and see if they can be held at the station for you to pick up so they don't get delivered after you leave.

Different classification of overnight service

Sounds to me like the shipper went cheaper and only sent themby FedEx "standard overnight", which has a later delivery than the "Priority Overnight" 10:30a.

Thank you so much! I will call and see if I can go and pick them up.
The last time I had snakes shipped it was through UPS by 10am the next day - they arrived at 12:30pm and I had to be at work by 12 that day. Something got messed up and when I called them from work they had already delivered and said it had been sent with no signature needed.
This time I arranged to be home even longer and still I hit a snag!
If there is a 3rd time I'll take the whole day off and they will be there at 9 am!
I can sleep easier now! Thanks! :dancer:

I double checked the tracking info - they are being sent Priority overnight.

I did not even think of that one Cav but if UPS is saying they are going to get there by 10am and they don't arrive till 12:30 I am betting he lives out of the way.

Malkingray if this is the case start asking whomever ships to you to select the hold at hub option so you don't have to scramble to get your snakes. You just have to be ready to pick them up around 9am at the station.

I know I have had to send a few snakes Fed Ex lately that notified me when I selected Priority overnight (10am) that they were not slated to arrive before 3pm.

priority overnight not foolproof

Ordered 0.1 black milksnakes and 1.1 black pinesnakes shipped FedEx priority overnight that were supposed to arrive Tue 10:30. They arrived Wed at 09:00. Some holdup in California delayed them a day. they were well packed and fine. Is there anyone you can get to wait for the packages? What sucked is working third shift and staying up all day waiting for nothing then going to work that night. I'm fortunate that if I'm not home, they leave packages at the rental office.

Well Fedex messed up and "lost" the shipment. Turns out they never left FL and the breeder picked them up this afternoon and has them - all are fine. I am going to arrange that I pick them up at the Fedex building when they are shipped so I don't have to miss any more tme from work.
I was SO EXCITED at 9:30am when the Fedex truck stopped in front of my house only to be bummed when it was a package for the neighbor. :grin01:
That was before I found out they never left FL.
I am just happy the snakes are all fine and hopefully there won't be any problems next time!
