That is one funky looking reptile ~LOL~ What kind of pets do they make?

They make cool pets! They're pretty nocturnal, and like to climb on branches in their tank, and run on their wheel, which is funny because they're long bodied. They get about the size of a rat, with very soft fur. I feed mine treats of all kinds of meat, cooked or raw, even left over pinkys. They like fruit too, and hunting crickets. You can find more info here. I would love to get a female for my male, but Ohio is pretty far, lol. I'll have to keep an eye out here still. They are pretty much solitary animals as well, so you don't want to get more than one for a tank...

What he said! Lol Capt Bogart nailed all the key points.

The sound they make sounds like a small bird. I'll try in the near future to get video of them making the sound. They are most vocal when you place the pair together for mating.

No problem. You know, you can go to that site and place free ads. There are also wanted ads, and last time I looked, someone in Columbus is looking for a weanling any sex...

Thanks for the link! Lots of great facts and pics. They are really cute! Not too sure if I need yet another pet ~LOL~ but they are definitely different.

We did have a young opossum wander in through the dog door the other night. Not quite like these guys :) Do the STO release scent like the native ones when threatened? It was pretty stinky :p

Lol, not that I know of, but my guy is really docile.

The big problem other than shipping the little guys, is New Mexico's new anti-import of pets laws that they are trying to pass... on top of buying the animal, I would have to pay 25$ to apply for a permit to import the little guy and that isn't even garanteed that I will get the permit... They can turn me down.. and they wont refund the 25$....
Its hitting pet stores around here the hardest... I feel sorry for the store owners.

Awwwwww they look so cute!!!

Too bad we don't get cute little fuzzies like that up here in Canada!

Well I really hope you can make it to NYC (or at least a few hrs closer ;)), as I would definitely be interested in a pair.

Oh no...you really had to torture me with a lower price, didn't you Dusty? :( I've been seriously contemplating these guys for quite some time (since Joe and Katie got one). Ugh, decisions, decisions.
