handle my snake before i feed him?

i got him on tuesday morning (he was shipped), and i'm planning on feeding him tomorrow night because his normal feeding was supposed to be this weekend. when he got here, i put him in is viv and he's been pretty active ever since (rarely hiding). i have left him alone though, except for quietly checking on him. if i handle him (more than just putting him into his feeding container), will i stress him out too much before eating? i'd like to get a little handling time in before he eats because i know i have to leave him alone for two days afterwards.

sorry if i'm being annoying with all these dumb questions. i know i'm annoying myself. lol.

I usually handle mine before eating. You'll have to judge how long to hold him by how he acts. If he's really skittish, you might only want to hold him a short while and then feed. If he's really calm, you can hold longer. Of my three new hatchlings, two were calm, and one really skittish. I held all of them after the waiting period, and fed the two calm ones in a feeder box. The skittish one refused food in the box, so I eventually put her on paper in her viv and fed her in there. After two months, she's finally calmed enough to feed in the box. If she'll take feed twice in there, I'll put the aspen back in her viv and feed her like the other two. Always give 2-3 days after feeding before handling though.

I always handle my snake before I feed him. Sometimes it's an hour, sometimes it's 15 minutes, but he's always in my hand as the mouse is thawing.

I hold mine before feeding, just to warm her up a little and make sure sure she's ready to eat.

I handle mine before feeding for 15-30 mins usually. But when i got mine i fed them their first feed after 4 days but did not handle at all (besides to put them in the feeder). I think its up to you. If your snake seems comfotable then i would handle for about 10-15 mins. Bet you cant wait!! What colour snake did you get?

I would advise leaving the handleing & feeding till friday night, but yeah handle before you feed, I do and it doesn't harm them, but just give him a clear 48 hours after feeding to digest his meal.
