Should I?

I don't know if I'm suppose to leave the heat lamp on over night....
I have the heating pad on and it's pretty warm in my house...but...
I don't want to under heat Valk.

Well what's the tempatures?
Without anyway to accuratly moderate them the both of them could be dangerous.

I would only use one or the other until you can regulate temp. but which one is up to you, sorry. susan

Didn't mean to sound harsh, but don't know which would work better for you. I'm would go with UTH on one side, giving a gradient temp, that way your snake can go where it is comfortable. susan

If it's fairly warm there's absolutely no reason to have a heat lamp. An under tank heater is more than sufficient in even the cold of winter.

You're in San Antonio. Unless the north and south poles suddenly swap magnetism and the world is thrown into an ice age, you're probably good without a heating pad until October or there abouts.

Depends upon whether or not they are running the air conditioner and the room stays cool. My snake room is closed from the rest of the house and I close the air conditioning vent and leave the room windows open. This keeps the room around 80-82 degrees. If I were to close it up and open the vent though, it would be chilly in there and supplemental heat would be necessary. I still leave the heat pads on, it's just that the thermostats don't have to work very hard.
