Shouldn't we be shedding...?

My corn was hatched Dec. 31. I got her February 2nd. She shed 2/7.

she has not shed since. I know younger corns are supposed to shed more often...

She has gone from 8.5g to 14.3g since her first shed. I didn't mess with her for a day (two days ago) because I was ill. Today was a feeding day (munson plan). I noticed she is a little jumpy and her scales are more "prominent" You can actually see all her scales clearly - which is unusual. She is usually really smooth and sleek but today she seemed a little rougher. Maybe the day I was sick she was blue and I didn't notice?

Either way, we skipped feeding today.

Is she about to shed?! Did I miss the blue? Is this a normal amount of time between sheds? I was expecting this a few weeks ago...

It does sound like she is in blue. Are her eyes milky? And when they are in blue they will cloud up so their scales are dull but then the next day or so they clear up, then they will shed a few days (or even up to weeks) later. You may just be seeing the "in between" stage of blue.

I am glad you skipped the feeding, usually they won't accept food when they are in blue which saves you from wasting a perfectly good mouse and won't cause a regurge.

Let us know when she sheds!

Yes, if it's just the tip I would start with a lukewarm damp facecloth and let the snake slither through it repeatedly. Be gentle and don't scrub.
