not sure if you are new to corn snakes i am and i think they can be shy from what ive read ive had mine from hatchling and over the last few months he has settled in and now is much more active i also try to handle him quite often as i dont like the idea that his is in his viv 24/7 i think this helps him to settle which makes him more likely to leave his hide also and from what i have experianced the more settled the more active also i hear mr pckles my corn moving at night alot i like to think you have to become friends :grin01: with your snake
I think it also depends on the overall personality of your particular snake. while most young corns tend to be shy. they do have their own personalities, some will grow to be more active but others will continue to be shy their whole life.
