I have just gotten my first corn snake. I did some research about what do to if _____ happens, things the snake needs to feel comfortable, ext. However, I never got to looking up common sicknesses the corn can get. Do any of you know of any commonly found sicknesses I would need to know about?

Mouth rot (AKA infectious stomatitis), blister disease, and a superabundance of flagellate protozoan parasites in the gut are probably the most common. And an infestation of snake mites. See a booket named What's Wrong With My Snake, by John Rossi, DVM.

Respiratory infection is one of the things they get most often. Almost all illness in captive snakes can be attributed to poor husbandry. Keep them clean and fed.

I just got that book for my Christmas, it's a brilliant book! Thouroughly recommend it aswell, it tells you just about all you'll need to know about any snake in your collection.
