Agree with Mysfitz - it's more about them getting to learn you're safe,, rather than actually "liking" you in the same way a cat or dog would. Some indications of this would be:

- When you open the tank lid/door and they come towards you instead of trying to avoid you.

- When you pick them up they seem alert but they're not fighting to get away.

- When you walk past the tank and they're out in the open, they just watch you go past rather than rushing off to hide.

All of these things can take a long time. To a hatchling, you're a huge blobby pink monster and it can take months of gentle handling to convince it that you're an OK huge blobby pink monster that won't hurt it.
