Silk plants - less shy

I ordered a couple of exo-terra silk plants for my python's viv and decided to throw an extra in my corn's. I was really surprised to see an instant change in his behavior! All day long, he's been resting on the plant and under it, outside of his hides. Normally he's pretty shy and if I turn the light on, or if I disturb him while he's out, he usually retreats back to one of his hides (usually the LEGO fort, haha) Next time I'm out, I'm definitely going to go buy some more flora for him.

If your corn seems to spend most of his/her time in hiding, try getting some silk plants in there.

My 10 gallon vivs have plants on the walls and back. Baby snakes love to hang out in vines!

I've often commented here that the more ground cover mine have, the more likely I am to see them, as they feel more secure about moving around the tank.

It's really counter-intuitive but I'm glad it works for you as well!

We just added some silk pothos to Clementine's viv, & she seems to love having the extra decor/cover

We bought some vines on sale at Hobby Lobby to decorate the ball python & boa cages. I took some of the extra and did one of my corn set-ups not long ago. I've noticed that Twizzler spends more time out "lounging" than before. I did the same in one of the other setups and saw the same behavior. I try to be creative in decorating (these guys are pets, not breeders - for now anyway) but I never thought of Lego's for a fort...that is really cool.
