Simple question about racks...

I'm looking at building a small hatchling rack and was just curious why people don't use the lids made for the sterilite containers? What's the advantage of having the tubs flush against the wood shelving? Thanks!

I don't have racks but I would thing that if you have the tub rub against the upper shelf then you have to remove it totally to open the tub and I'm thinking that it helps with escapes too.

Yep, you just have to slide the tub halfway out to get the critter in and out. It's very smooth and easy...

Yep, it's just easier to not have to pull the tub all the way out and then pull off a lid. Especially when you've got hundreds of little babies to check on and feed.
