Skin stuck

My corn snake has got a bit of skin stuck on his tail, and it won't come off, , i've tried everything, including waiting until his next shed, but it hasn't come off and now its gone a strange colour. I'm running out of ideas, and i'm really worried, i'm taking him to the vets soon, but has anyone got any advice?

Sorry to say ,it sounds like he might lose a little bit of tail. Changing color is due to the circulation being cut off. So if this happen again using a humid hide or after the shed, try letting the snakes crawl through a damp cloth while holding him and you might have to rub it a bit to help it off.

i'd buy a spray especially for snakes to help them shed. One of mine had problems,so i bought some. He hasn't had any problems since. if you live in the UK then you can go online to reptilekeeping.com or livefood UK. They'll deliver within five days. I hope this helps! :) P.S. The stuff i've got is made by Zoomed and it's called Repti shedding aid,it cost me around £3.65 a bottle. :)

They sell that stuff in the States, too. Any pet store ought to have it, or at least be able to order it for you.

That being said, PLAIN WATER works just as well. I've never used any sort of shed aid product and the few bad sheds I've had were resolved by soaking the snake in plain water.

As for the snake's tail turning colors, I'm afraid Lenny is right. Your snake will likely lose its tail tip.
