Skinny?

This is my girl from repticon, Nova. She was being fed one pink a week. I've bumped her up to a fuzzy every 5 days. I've had her just a few weeks now. Does she look skinny?

She looks just fine. how much does she weigh?
You want them to look like a loaf of bread, if it were cut in half. Flat on the bottom, rounded at the top. If they have a pointed/triangle top, they are too thin. If they are rounded on the bottom, they are too fat.

I would like to see a photo of her from above- her whole body. But I did think she looked a little triangle-shaped. Still, a fuzzy ever five days is perfect. I would slit the prey, too- several slits across the back.

If you look right above her head you can see the ridge in this pic.

I brain the fuzzies and she's not refused a meal yet. Whats the reason for slicing? Does braining accomplish the same as slicing?

Slitting the prey allows it to be digested easily. A study showed cornsnakes fed slit pinks grew faster than those fed un-slit pinks.

She does look thin. Do you know anything about her story?

I got her from repticon a few weeks ago from S&S exotic animals - a Houston breeder. Cornsnakes don't appear to be their main gig. I asked about feeding and was told she got a pinkie on Wednesdays. She was in blue when u got her. I was told she was "about a year old".

I will def try slicing. If I do that and she poops, can I feed her every 4 days?

I wouldn't. You won't get to handle her, ever. She'll be digesting. I think a more conventional feeding schedule of appropriate sized prey will be just fine. She'll put on weight quickly once she's on fuzzies.
