Sleeping on glass ridge????

I have recently rehomed my 1 year old Miami phase corn into a 3 ft viv, and he has taken to sleeping on the 2 inch wide glass ridge that runs around the edge of the top of the glass.
The viv has a heat pad on 1/3 of bottom, and temperatures are normal. He has 2 x hides which he "sometimes" uses, but more often than not i find him up in the rafters!!
The lid only has ventilation on one side, and no other means of ventilation. Could this be the problem?
Any help gratefully accepted. Thanx

Snakes know how to regulate their body temps better than we do. He may like it up there for the drafts, or just because it is different than what he had before. Does he sit up there after he has eaten? I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I agree with pcar.

My 8 week old corn prefers to hang out on a back ledge in my viv. The ledge runs from the cool end of the viv to the warm end and he chooses his position appropriately.

After furnishing the viv as best I could with branches, rocks, logs, substrate, trees, bamboo, ... and on and on... the snake chooses the ledge by the vent at the top at the back!

His choice I guess!

Thanx very much, have just fed him and he's gone into his cave. Maybe too much effort needed to climb his tree to reach the ridge!! Thanx again fella's. :wavey:

I house my snake, Nibblet in a 20 long glass aquarium. There's a small gap between the inside rim and the locking lid on top. Nibblet hangs out there after a night of exploring. I just assumed it was natural.

I've suspended a paper towel roll between the ends of one of those pose-able vines and Spur likes to go and sit up there from time to time.

I just redid the viv using your "suspended paper-towel rolls on posable vine" idea. Nibblet loves it! :crazy02:

Now if I can just find a place for the sofa-bed and track lighting...
