Hmm... could be anything really.

Does she smell bad as in a rotten smelling bad? Could be a "I'm ready to mate" smell. If it's a rotten smell, I'd try giving her a couple baths and luke warm water and see if the smell goes away, coulda' been fungus or bacteria on the snake's skin that was causing the smell (just like the way our feet smell because of bacteria).

She could also be just a naturally very smelly snake.

Also a thing to note is that snakes do fart. No joke. She could be farting alot. Maybe check to see if there are times of real bad smell or when the smell kinda goes away. Could be dealing with a farting snake (and yeah, they smell pretty awful. especially from ringnecks in colorado, they use it as a method of defense).

Does your snake poop in the water? She could have a thin layer of poop on her that's been putrifying.

Sorry I couldn't help you any further.

thanks

that is a real

help, in answer to your question? yes she does poop in her water EVERY time she poops, but it is a normal poop.

she is a snow so she is white and i cant see any discolouration around the vent or tail.

tried a couple of baths and it helped a little but i guess she must be just a smelly girl.

thanx again...................................steve
