Snake age?

Is there a way to estimate how old a hatchling is? I bought mine at Petco so I don't really know her age. She was about 13inches when I got her and I weighed her 2 days ago and she was 6g. I'm guessing it's hard to know since they grow according to how often then eat, in addition to genetics. She must be a young one though, right?

It seems like yours is a young one! But with Petco snakes they arent fed as often as hatchlings should be to keep them littler. It seems that people want lil snakes! I got Piglet from petco... and Im pretty sure he is now about a year but is still small!

They said they were fed once a week on fridays, but what they say and what they do I don't really know. I feel like she got bigger after her first feed with me. she was reaching things in the tank she hadn't reached before so it couldn't be all my imagination! She just ate her second meal yesterday. She's a great little eater.

For comparison - I got my Caramel Charcoal on an out of egg special, he hadn't been fed yet. He did have one post-hatching shed. He was 6 grams then. He's 19 now, I can't believe how he is growing!

There is no way to tell. Some babies just grow faster than some. I have a few from last year. 1 hatched in May and 2 others in July. By August, the July babies were already double the size of the May baby. And all my babies eat on the same 1 a week schedule.
