Snake bath

WHY BATHE

HI RAP.

Bathing is really good exercise for the snake,it also aids defication and is excellent for aiding dificult sheds........

........................STEVE:D

P.S ......I USE A WASHING BOWL SPECIALY BOUGHT FOR THE JOB.

WHY:It's good exercise for the snake if it has no branches to climb on. It is also good if you don't want the snake to defacate in its enclosure.

HOW: Fill the bath (sink for small snakes) with a few inches of room-temperature or slightly cooler water. Let the snake slide in and then swim around for a bit. When it is ready to do its business, it will stop where it is and just float for a while.

WHEN: I bathe my snakes two days after feeding or three days after if it was a particularly big meal. You should wait at least forty-eight hours as snakes that are in the middle of digesting like to be left well alone. Besides this, you can bathe your snake whenever you like.

I would also like to add that "bathing" your snake is completely optional. The only time that I think it would be even remotely necessary is when the snake only has a partial shed.

One more thing - if you use your bathtub or sink to bathe the snake, you have to disinfect it afterwards - especially if the snake "does it's business" while bathing.

Forgot something - NEVER leave the snake alone while it's in the water. If the water is deep -as in, if the snake was resting on the bottom, it's head is underwater- it would be easy for the snake become fatigued and drown if left too long.

i normally leave mine for about 10 mins i put them in the bath and sit on the loo and watch them (that sounded dodgey but honestly its not) :D
