Snake Bedding

My husband and I are new snake owners and are having a bit of an argument. :argue: I say we should have the Repti-Bark and that the Aspen is too easy for the snake to uncover. He says that the Repti-Bark is too dusty. Do any of you have a suggestions?

We have two hatchling Corn snakes on Repti-Bark bedding and I like it just fine. It doesn't seem to generate any dust at all. The only drawback that I can see in comparison to Aspen that their poo is sometimes hard to spot in the dark colored Repti-Bark. I think in Aspen a poo would be easier to notice.

The other side

I used Repti-bark when I first got my corn and the dust didn't seem to have any negative effect on my snake, but cleaning the tank was a pain because there was red dust everywhere.

Now I use cage carpets and those are really easy to clean! I highly reccomend them as an alternative to any kind of bedding. If you use them though, toss in a few extra hidey places for your snake to make up for the lack of burrowing hidey places. I just used a paper towel roll and my snake loves that thing more than the hidey places I bought at the store.
