WHAT DO I DO I CAME HOME AT 9:00 AT FOUND 2 SNAKES OUT OF THERE EGGS BUT SADLY FOUND A EGGS WITH BUBBLY BLOOD ON TOP I KNOW THERE IS A SNAKE IN THERE WHAT DO I DO IS IT STILL ALIVE PLEASE HELP ME I DONT KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS. :eek1: :-offtopic IS IT OK TO PUT THE DAD SNAKE WITH A LITTLE SNAKE THAT I HAVE HAD FOR ABOUT SINCE CRISTMAS OR WILL HE TRY TO MATE WITH HER CAN HE KILL HER BY MATEING WITH HER WILL HE KILL HER BY DOING THIS ?

Calm down and take a deep breath. :)

Some eggs have a tinge of blood left over in the yolk. If the bubbles are coming from inside the egg, it is usually an indicator that the hatchling is breathing. Give it a few hours and see if anything emerges.

Housing two snakes together under any circumstance posses numerous risks, especially snakes of disproportionate size. Those risks may include cannibalism, early breeding, and disease transmission. Most experienced keepers will recommend that you avoid this practice if at all possible.

:) :) :) ok thanks so much i can see the little snake breathing now and it seemsto be good thanks again ok one more thing i put the two babby corn snakes i a cage that i just cleaned and put new chips in do i put heat on thme or will it hurt them?

Hatchlings require external heat just like the adults. Ensure that they have access to drinking water. Now, sit back, enjoy the miracle and wait for the others to emerge. :)

Exciting isn't it? I'd swap from chips to paper towel substrate for hatchlings. It just prevents unnecessary accidents with them swallowing bits of bark.

CAV's right about housing two snakes of different sizes together - it's inviting trouble, so definitely avoid doing that.

How many more eggs are you waiting for?

likewise produs, i agree with cav and kel, definitely not snakes of that difference in size, you are asking for trouble with them that way. tis a lot safer for them to be on their own.
i do house 2 females together, however they are the same size and a year in age difference, but reading everything on this forum im starting to think about separating them, i do worry when it comes to feeding and im having to watch them for a few hours afterwards in case of 'accidents'. lol. i will be investing in another viv very soon.
:)

I have 2 snakes, one male and one female. they are the same age, but the male is slightly larger than the female. I have kept them together since they were about 6 months old. I tried seperating them when I got more space to keep 2 vivs, but they both stopped eating and it seemed all they would do was press their faces against the glass and stare at each other. I put them back together and they started eating again, and resumed their normal movement patterns. I feed them both at the same time, but in seperate containers, and wait until they both calm down before I put them back into their viv. I know that keeping male and female together probably got me in trouble last year as I found eggs and wasn't expecting them. But I left them together and was able to hatch all 6 eggs that I got this year. they are about 4 years old now. I have 2 other snakes, one male and one female that I hope to breed in another year or so, but I am keeping them seperate until they are ready to breed.
