Hello all! It's been a while since I've been on here. So I saw that my corn snake Gideon was slithering around in her cage. I thought it was odd because she sleeps at night, but anywho I took her outside for some air and photos. We have lots of potted plants out in the back and I placed her in a small one with aloe vera (after making sure no spiders or ants nests) and I started taking pictures. None of the photos turned out how I wanted them (on the digital I don't know how to use the focus) so I wanted to go inside for my manual focus film camera, but as soon as Gideon saw my hand reach for her she found a way into the dirt and burrowed under there! I started freaking out and tried digging for her but she just kept burrowing deeper! I was thinking of waiting it out until she decides to surface but I was worried she'll find something nasty so I had no choice but to carefully pull out the plant I figured she was under (I later replanted it ^_^), and there she was curled up and covered with moist dirt! I inspected to see she was alright, no cuts or anything. After all was good I took her back into my room and let her slither around my hands before putting her back into her cage. whew! After that little ordeal I got to thinking maybe she likes the feel of the earth and got inspired to put some moist eco-earth in a box so she can burrow around in when I take her out of her cage. How does that sound?
