Snake Log

I nerded out and created a log for my snakes. Constructive criticism anyone? Am I leaving out something important?

I'm happy to share it with whoever wants, as soon as I figure out how to share a word document here.

And I didn't open this post till now because I thought it had to do with the snake log hide :)

Nice records !

Yours looks good! It's nice to have all your snakes on the same page, instead of flipping through documents.

Sorry for the cell phone pic of my computer screen!
This is mine, a separate document per snake. c/p = complete or partial shed.

Nice! Mine is just pen/paper, but I have all three snakes on one page, one page per month. I don't know what I'll do when there's more than 3! I have a column for date, weight, what they ate, and shed, and just add notes as necessary. They each have a growth graph too, for quick "at a glance" comparisons. Works pretty well so far.

Just out of curiosity, have you guys tried iherp? Is there more of a benefit to doing it this way as an alternative?

I recommend herperpro program for anybody with more than a few snakes. Very efficient.

I just really like writing on paper. LOL. And with only 3, it only takes a minute. If (okay okay, when) I get more, this might get to be more of a nuisance.
I was kind of thinking too, that if there is a need for a vet trip, all I have to do is grab my book and go, no need to print anything off, or bring my laptop.

I do see those pros, and I am one that has multiple lists for sure and tend to do that with everything. I only have one snake now and another one coming in a week and a half, but I love iherp. I don't use it for my beardie but I love it for my snake. I just use it right on my phone and can access it anywhere. And I love that fact because I seldom forget my phone and if there was an emergency I think I would be more likely to forget the book when I went out the door in haste. I do like writing on paper though, so I really get that (a friend of mine and I still write letters to each other, I know archaic right lmao!). I think I would have to actually try it myself to see if I like it better.

Totally true, and as soon as I get a new phone, that would definitely be awesome to have an app I can access that way. My current phone sucks for internet use though. Tiny screen, super slow, and crashes all the time. My phone might actually be even more archaic than letter writing! LOL. I will definitely be checking this iherp out.

BAHAHAHAHA!! My last phone was like that and my upgrade seems slightly archaic now also but I still love it immensely compared to my last phone. I have a galaxy s3 now and my only complaint is that is is only 3g lol. but I just connect to the wifi at home and have no issues and I can update all of her stuff right in her room without having to be at the computer. I'm still fairly new to iherp but they have printable worksheet option also, just have to figure out how to operate it :D

Not that I'm aware of, I just use the browser on my phone. How I do most things. But it still works pretty slick and add her track right as I'm doing things, like weight. I liked it too because I tracked every progress of her shed so I could kind of get an idea how long her average process is, instead of just when she shed. Can track more mundane things most people wouldn't but I like to know.
