Snake names (good laugh)

jpccusa

Happy with this new hobby
After reading Saffleur's thread in which his baby sister named the snake "Piggy Clockwork" (http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72876), I thought it would be fun to read snake names and the reasons they got those names.

Mine is called Kinky, and unlike most people think, this is a perfect snake. The name was given by my roommate, who doesn't like snakes... :)

Apparetnly I have really bad snake names--so much so that a "reptile expert" would not believe me and asked me what the "real" name was. But honestly, that is what I call my snake, and it is a snake it doesn't care what I call it!

So my first snake is a regular amel named Addy Rose Snakeypants, but mostly goes by Snakeypants. My room mate started it, she calls my fish "loachiepants" or "fishiepants" and called the snake "snakeypants" and it stuck.

After that, the other snakes got related names--DeDe Snakeyshorts and Sneaky Snakeyspots.

Dede is called that short for Danika Demon, cause she is wicked fast, and Sneaky is called that cause he is sneaky, and hides more then my other snakes.

Of any snake names that I'm aware of from forum members, "Battle Worm 3000" is still my favorite.

LOL, that is a good one! The latest corn I got is a pastel dilute that I named Nibbler. He eats like Nibbler on Futurama and when I first got him he bit me 3 times in a row, making him the first reptile to ever bite me. I thought the name kinda fit. :D

My Python's name is "Pickle Bunny". I got him from a pound, and was going to name him "Oliver" because he was an orphan and was always eating... hehehe. I made my boyfriend CRAZY trying to talk him into me keeping the snake... and one day, while at work he called me saying "Okay, the snake stays... but we're naming it Pickle Bunny". I laughed so hard, that that's been the name ever since.

I also have a fish named "Sir Bloop Bloop McLookey".

I first named my snake "Yolanda" because of the y on top of her head and she looked like a girl. I have never had her probed so I don't know what it is so the name that has stuck is, "Yo-Yo" my other snake is "Ziggy". Mostly because he/she/it always goes back and forth like a little sidewinder. Yo-Yo is now 2 1/2 years old and is about 49" long and just beautiful. Zigg is still small. He was a runt and is a year old, maybe a little older and is only about 18" long and big around as my pinkie. Quite the cutie and a wonderful eater. Actually they are BOTH terrific eaters. Never a problem and both healthy as can be. For that, I am happy.

Putty (as in Silly Putty) the cornsnake

Mr. Bigglesworth the pastel ball python.

My only two funny-ish names.

I only have one snake with a funny name it is my little anery runt. I couldnt come up with a name so I was looking around on the internet for names that meant small. There was an add for a babys toy called the Dinky Go Round. some kids toy with toys on it that they can drive around. I thought Dinky was funny so i named the runt Dinky and I have to laugh every time i say his name:roflmao:

i don't think any any of my snakes names are odd but their nick names sort of are...

Nyxx- BP is often called "nyxxy-poo"
Serg- sunglow corn is called Smerge
Maeve- albino CA king is "the pod snake" theres a story behind that one
Zapher(RIP)- pewter corn was "the wapher" cause he was small and kinda skinny
Helios- BP is "heliosa" it just his name with a 'a' added and sadi with a mexican/spanish accent
Zane- Hognose is "Squishie" or "Squishie Man"
Pride(RIP)- everglades rat was the "orange bitey thing" cause he was orange and he liked to bite
Kaleo- Gopher snake is "the Opher" or "the opher man"
Kalypso- macklot's is "the mean one" and frequently "stop that!"

none of the other have nick names

I don't consider any of my snakes to have a funny or odd name. Yes, some may not be very imaginative, but they're not funny. And as for any "pet" name that I may call any of my snakes upon occasion...this is a family forum and I can not post them here.

I too have a Fetish (The Kinky Grey Lady).

Most of my snakes names are French and pretencious ie Riviere, Beaux, Clementine, Noir, Lavalle, Dior etc.

The boas names begin with B ie Brutus, Beaux, Bree, Burton Blythe etc.

But I also have the "animals". Panther - A giant snow corn. And Giraffe, and angry wee sonoran gopher.

The only name of mine that's even mildly funny is Runt. Some of my other names I... eh... not so funny to most people. But anywhos... Here's some of the nicknames I've come up for them:
Luci(fer) = Luci Liu
Napoleon = Polio
Andrew = Evil
Lizzie = L'il Nipper
Benito = &#$!head

Good to see I inspired such an amusing thread! Perhaps I'll let them name the next one I get too -grins-
