Snake Relaxin?

Hey guys...if anyone here remembers one of my earlier posts about how mt snake gut stuck to tape at the tope of his cage and messed up his eye covering in the process, he has finally shed (i now have a screen top) and his eye, and the damaged scales are all healthy and back to normal!! what a relief. being healthy again, he is now as active as ever, searching for any opening i may not have sealed. he keeps wedging himself in between the top of the tank. the first time he did this i about had a heart attack, when i couldnt find him anywhere inside...finally looking up to see him just chilling on a beam that barely supports him (see pic)

the first time i saw it i thought he had broken his own neck or something. paranoid after my first experience. so now when he does it i figure he wants out, and take him out and play around with him. but he does it ALL THE TIME! should i put something up there so he couldnt go there? or is there no harm? thanks again everyone!

i saw a lot of this from browsing the forums and i think its normal. They feel secure because its a little crevice that they can feel touching them all the way around. you could find a way to fill it in, with some aquarium sealer or something, but i don't have that problem because i have a top that actually locks down and uses that ledge, not a screen top. As you can see it actually fits down inside the top adn sits on that ledge and there are little tabs that slide under it to secure it so it cant be pushed up.. pretty nifty and only 6 bucks at walmart.

Unless you're very concerned he might hurt himself, I'd let him use his little secure crevice until he grows too big to fit inside it any more :)

In addition you could put extra, maybe smaller, hides inside the viv to try and coax him into using those instead.

I dont see it as a problem, My corn does this all the time, so I put a branch in so he could get up there alot easier. He cant get out, so Im not worried.

It's normal, let it be. I've got a 4' female Emoryi in a 55 gal. that goes up there all the time. I figure it's good exercise if nothing else
