Snake Vet in NE Indiana?

Hello!

I recently moved to NE Indiana, near Fort Wayne (and the Ohio border) and was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a really knowledgeable snake doc in the area? We do not need one at the moment, but if (God forbid!!) something were to happen, I would like to have one that I know I can trust on speed dial! In the past I've found that personal recommendations with vets are often more reliable than someone in the phone book who just 'claims' to be an expert, but has little to no actual reptile experience...

Thanks!

Purdue University would probably have some valuable resources. I know they have a good vet school, plus I heard they will do tests on lizard feces, probably snakes too.

i would love to know what vets you come up with in northern indiana. i know theres a vet that does reptiles not too far from me in lowell indiana. however im not sure about how good he is or anything. also there is one in valparaiso indiana that comes highly recommended from other vets, i forget the name of both of these vets unfortunately. but you could probably do a search and find them? sometimes its just easiest to sit down with a phonebook, make some calls to local vets and get some recommendations, or ask if you find one that does reptiles, always ask lots of questions to get a feel for the clinics knowledge of reptiles, then make note of them if they seem experienced for later reference. if you find any in northwest indiana that are good let me know. thanks.

The list I have handy is located here:

I hope this helps you out!

I have used the vet in Indy, I highly recommend her. Angela is awesome and was wonderful with both my birds, small exotics, and reptiles. She is highly educated and has won several awards in different areas.
