Hopeless Addict...
Hello,

I just wanted to take the time to introduce myself. I have just recently decided to take the plunge and get a pet corn snake! Of course, now I have to figure out how to care for such a beautiful creature so I figured what else could possibly be perfect than a forum dedicated to said animal?

So here I am! I can't wait to learn all I can from you guys so thank you in advanced for your time!

Of course there still is the major roadblock of getting my mom to agree to having a snake in the house so if I live through that catastrophe I'll see you guys around! :)

Even if you can't get your mom to go along right away, learn everything you can. Seeing you do your homework BEFORE you get a pet may change her mind, and even if it doesn't, living at home doesn't last forever.

Lol. If only it was as simple as doing my homework. My mom had a traumatic experience with a python when she was in grade school when they had one of those assemblies dedicated to snakes. They picked her to hold the snake when she clearly didn't want to and once the python was around her shoulders and it looked at her, she was done. She's never gone near them ever since.

I will continue learning though anyways. I actually enjoy seeing other people's vivs and their take on husbandry. It's almost as fascinating as researching the snakes themselves!

And if I could make my mom, maybe not love them as much as I do, but to understand them better then that'll be an added bonus! :)

Might I recommend Charm City Reptile Rescue for any snake-related needs you may have, from adopting one to volunteering to help clean cages?

And you've come to the right place to learn about corn snake care, for sure and certain. The people here are great, and very very helpful. Welcome!

Hey, Your not terribly far from me, I'm always looking for a corn snake junkie to go to expos with my fiancee and I. =)
